The BIOFIN methodology is currently implemented in 40 countries. The global BIOFIN team works with interdisciplinary national teams, customising the methodology to the national context and implementing prioritised finance solutions. BIOFIN countries are across three regions. In Eurasia, Asia and Pacific – Bhutan, China, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, India, Thailand, Vietnam, Georgia, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Fiji, Malaysia, Philippines, Mongolia, Cambodia, Nepal, and Uzbekistan; in Africa – Egypt; Rwanda, Botswana, Zambia, South Africa, Uganda, Seychelles, Mozambique, Malawi, Tanzania, Gabon, Niger and Madagascar; and in Latin America and Caribbean – Argentina; Cuba, Costa Rica, Belize, Peru, Colombia, Ecuador, Guatemala, Mexico, Brazil, and Chile.
In Namibia, GIZ implements the BIOFIN methodology since 2014.
