From November 23 to 24, BIOFIN Mexico participated in the state of Guanajuato’s First Impact Investment Forum, which took place in the city of Leon, Guanajuato. The event was organized by the state’s government and Volkswagen Mexico, in collaboration with BIOFIN Mexico, and had the objective of fostering capital mobilization towards impact investment in terms of biodiversity, through meetings and dialogues between the state government, social and environmental entrepreneurs and companies, as well as local entrepreneurs interested in businesses with a focus on social development and impact investment.
In the event, representatives from Guanajuato’s government, Volkswagen Mexico, BIOFIN, non-governmental organizations, academia, civil society organizations, as well as local entrepreneurs, actively participated in the conferences and workshops that took place in the context of the Forum.
Within the framework of the workshops, BIOFIN Mexico presented its progress and the finance solutions in which it collaborates. In addition, it was presented as an initiative that relies on strategic allies, such as the state of Guanajuato and other subnational governments, as well as small businesses, in fostering projects with a positive impact on biodiversity.
The foregoing contributes to the bioeconomy solution and the strengthening of finance mechanisms for biodiversity at the subnational level, since BIOFIN Mexico has been supporting the government of Guanajuato in the elaboration of its Biodiversity Finance Plan and Solutions.
